Labor Camp is a great way to punish people when all of the Brig cells are overcrowded or are futile to convey the message to criminals.

Whenever to use the Brig cell or Labor Camp is up to Warden or HoS. The recommended amount of points for various crime severities is listed at Space Law.

Gulagging People

Telegulag equipment set. From left to right: Telegulag Console, Telegulag Chair, Item Retrieval Console
  1. Take the cuffed prisoner to the labor camp teleporter (called telegulag).
  2. Make sure they have all their items, including their ID, on them. The telegulag will automatically strip and store their items.
  3. Put the cuffed prisoner in the telegulag and close it by clicking on it.
  4. If the prisoner doesn't cooperate, stun them.
  5. Lock the telegulag shut by clicking on the console next to it and hitting "lock".
  6. Take a prisoner ID and put it in the console.
  7. Set a target location.
  8. (Optional) Say, "Glory to Nanotrasen!"
  9. Hit "process prisoner" to automatically uncuff and teleport them to the gulag.
  10. Pick up your cuffs to reuse them.

After completing their sentence and returning, prisoners can automatically retrieve their belongings. On certain maps, prisoners may even be able to release themselves. However, it's important to board the actual gulag shuttle to obtain the necessary materials and then insert them into the seclathe. Additionally, remember to update the prisoner's status to "Discharged" once their sentence is served.

The telegulag is an invaluable tool for managing mobs, riots, or processing large numbers of individuals. Once you've mastered the process, it significantly reduces the time spent compared to individually brigging someone. Moreover, it ensures better tracking of their belongings, especially during busy periods when items tend to get misplaced in the brig.

The Gulag

Serving the Gulag

  1. Arrive at the labor camp and get ready to work.
  2. If the gulag shuttle isn't there, call it. Check the console on the prisoner side to see how many points you need and the value of materials.
  3. Grab a breath mask and oxy tank from the blue crate.
  4. Get a mining scanner, ore satchel, and pickaxe. You can take a flashlight and mesons if you want. Turn on your internals and start working outside.
  5. Press Z to use the scanner. Mine ores and prioritize rare ones for more points. If there's an ash storm, go inside.
  6. When you have enough ores, go back inside to the smelter. Drop ores in front of the unloading machine.
  7. Flip the switch to start smelting. Use the console to select ores for smelting.
  8. If you have extra materials, use crates to move them to the gulag shuttle and put them in the stacking machine.
  9. Claim your points at the console. If you have enough, move the shuttle.
  10. Stay on the shuttle until it leaves.
  11. Back at the station, go to the equipment station on the wall. Click "retrieve items" next to your name. Ask for help if you can't leave on your own.

Gulag Oversight

Having someone stationed at the Gulag to oversee prisoners isn't essential. The lava mouth between the Gulag and the rest of the lavaland serves as a natural barrier, making escapes unlikely. However, having officers stationed there poses a risk of them being harmed or lost.

If supervision is necessary, it can be done remotely using security cameras. Near the Gulag, there's a post on the lavaland that connects it with the rest of the Mining Outpost.
