That ship reminds me more of the old NT Space Battle scene ship. Honestly I'm half tempted to try my hand at a ship that is very claustrophobic, akin to the original Dead Space or the first Alien film.
Its hard to do a Jungle map more so since I feel I'm missing half the tools to do it well.
Here's a example of what I've been trying my hand at, but my concern is that this is pretty much what the entire map is going to look like, but with less ruins. That's not a bad thing, but it lacks variety, such as natural walls, caves or higher elevations.
(This is the DM viewer, not in game. The sprites look much nicer in game, and they randomise so its not all the same sprite for each tree and grass tile.)

Will that Bluespace artillery be functional? That sounds like a recipie for FUN and a pretty good reason to go up to that z-level.

I like the muddiness of it, don't add grass. Grass is something that can be deliberately dug up but that just indicates that its dirt, a big planet full of neon green astroturf will look stupid & ugly.

Not lush enough. Proper jungles are dense as hell, so much so that you can barely move without a machete hacking your way through.

Needs more mundane things to do outside the station(experimentational hydroponics,Buildan(which means engineering needs more tools) and things for assistants to do when they're bored) and a personal Idea would be that when someone falls from the orbit Z level to the ground(without using the shuttle or any sort of re-entry protection), they get gibbed.

Man the jungle tiles look so bad like super bland we need actual grassy jungle tiles rather than placing jungle plant sprites on them

Generate a shitload of jungle "walls" all over everywhere like how lavaland is generated. The walls can be passed through, but it slows you terribly and blocks sight. The walls can be "mined" by holding a machete or hatchet or other bladed weapon.

As people are saying above. We currently have very, very, little to work with when it comes to the Jungle environment.
I was showing off what we are capable of currently, but we are still lacking a lot of items to make the environment look even denser, varied and nicer.

If trees or plants are blocking your sight, chop them down with a axe or a machete, the only problem i can think of that there being is that if the treesprites are too thin then we have a unrealistic black box of darknness wrapped around a thin tree (unless you make it so that even if trees are lined up, they block light as per the angle they are shifted to *North tree just moved to the north outer edge of the tile they are blocking), so you can see perfectly fine around the angle of 1 tree but lots of randomly shifted trees block sight)
I hope we have more bush sprites, its all looking very tall and leafy with the demonstrated assets.

Life is full of obstacles, and people have come up with many ways to either circumvent them or conquer them, but by the time people code the first part they are too burned out to follow up with the second.
Also I feel we have just about reached critical mass on the nature of jungle flora composition so I am going to drop some bullet points:
- Dense, low vegetation can only florish with good sunlight. The bigger and more numerous the trees, the less plants beneath them.
- Jungles as seen on tv are what you get on the edges of tropical/rain/monsoon forests, or along things that cut into them like rivers.
- The part that makes travelling a wild forest the hardest is the terrain, something that can't be reproduced in 2D top-down, not even with z-level trickery.
