You misunderstand, aranclanos is the one who votes for a huge ascii penis everytime. He's still just voting for hornygranny. :^)
But for real, Hornygranny is good and I voted yes for him to stay.
Not to mention you decided to have a separate list of nominations from the main one, which consisted of HG, an ascii dick, and an IRC bot.
This is the problem with the two non-player votes.
If someone wants to be a headmin, they should make their candidate thread like the others, if they cant be bothered to do that then they shouldnt be eligible.
Hopefully this time we will have just one unified list for the votes.

Except that MSO said he was not giving a headmin slot to the coders next time around, so it will be a non issue. This thread is more about dealing with the remainder of HG's term

And why would he bother doing that when "separation between the code base and server is absolute. I am not reading dezzmont platitudes for the billionth time and I will not be checking back on this thread"

This is about the server though.
I code for the code project and moderate the code sections of the forums.
But its not just about the server though is it?
HG was the coderbus elected representative, it was you guys that put him where he is today - even after making the above statement,
I'm usually quick to deflate how serious we treat sever politics here, but coming forth to talk about the situation in the thread would really be nice, HG.
At time of writing we're looking at nearly 3/4ths of the vote against someone.
Friendly reminder that you are beautiful and this server would be nothing without your continued support I play August Finster, a suave midget with a grudge, as well as Francis Heart, the naked guitarist of the Cosmos.
He's also been on the server more activily in the past couple of days. I feel like Quartz started all of this with a bias too as no one seems to be flipping their shit at thebiblemelts, stillchr, or any of the other inactive min. They aren't a headmin but eh. HG forever.
No one gives a shit if an admin is away for a bit, but someone thats taken on a role where they're meant to be making a commitment to be around to make decisions? Completely different thing.
A car dealership and manufacturer are both involved in giving you a car, but you don't yell at the dealership if the car is defective or at the manufacturer if you got overcharged. Just like you don't yell at coders for getting banned, you can't yell at admins if the game has bugs. HG could be a shitty coder and a great admin, great coder and a shitty admin, shitty at both, or even great at both. They're independent factors. Trying to use this thread to soapbox how much you dislike him as a headcoder is completely pointless because this thread should be about how much you like or dislike him as a headmin. That would be like a DA running for mayor and the opposition runs attack ads claiming that the DA's low prosecution rate means that he'll be a shitty mayor if elected. There's no correlation there.
Having said that, it is completely fair to point at HGs inactivity as a headcoder and say "well that bodes poorly on his work ethic".
I code for the code project and moderate the code sections of the forums.
Wasn't/Isn't one of the "requirements" for adminship that you should be at least somewhat remotely moderately active on the forums? If so, why hasn't HG so much as responded to this thread at all?
That should just about speak for itself.

FWIW: His last actual post, doing admin duties on the forums was June 5th. Only post after that was "lol tedward removed from admins.txt for inactivity"

I personally think headmins should be more active in the community than regular admins, since they're the dorks that vote on all the important shit, especially now that the Host is beneath them rather than above.

There is a lot of very bizarre nonsense being talked on this forum. I shall now remain silent and logoff until my points are vindicated.

Hey there, I'm Virescent, the super evil person who made the stupid appeal and didn't think it through enough. Just came here to say: screech, retards. Screech and writhe like the worms you are. Your pathetic little cries will keep echoing around for a while before quietting down. There is one great outcome from this: I rised up the blood pressure of some of you shitheads and lowered your lifespan. I'm honestly tempted to do this more often just to see you screech and writhe more, but that wouldn't be cool of me. So come on haters, show me some more of your high blood pressure please.
Overall I do think that head admins should present a front of activity, if not then what's the point of being a head admin if your just going to pop in on the rare occasion and reply to a disconnected post.
It shows that HG does not take the job seriously. What's the point of being one of the head administrators of a community that you yourself don't seem to want to be involved in?
Hell, I don't even like cheridan but he's an active maintainer, if he wanted to keep it in house with the coders for the remainder of the term then he should toss it to him
I'm not super aware of the inhouse politiks of the coders, but still, pick an active maintainer or coder if you wanna keep it in coderbus, or just move the position to someone qualified, preferably STP or Kor to solve that dilema
Why can't we just eat the cake if we have it? whoever said that is retarded, If I have a cake, I see no good reason not to eat it.

I don't even thing HG is a head coder anymore, he was removed due to inactivity.
It was simple to get him removed from his headcoder position because he and Cheridan set an explicit minimum expectation of activity to keep that role. HG didn't meet that quota, so he was removed. Personally I think that this was a fantastic policy, and this headmin term has shown that we may need to find some metric of activity to hold the headmins to.
If anybody was wondering, outside of a short period for a declared inactivity period, they have been active enough to meet requirements lately.
They were active in the headmin channel often enough, even if it was when none of the other two headmins were online, and they have more connections in the last 30 days then I do.

The issue is that, as I pointed out, some of those connections are literally him logging in and then going AFK.
If you're not active enough to notice his inactivity, why are you making the call?
He answered my Ahelp yesterday, but I'm active enough to recognize it for what it is, a temporary burst to avoid this issue before fucking off again
See you guys in three weeks when this gets brought up again I guess.
