find the secret ring that lets you memorize more level 1 spells
...i never thought to throw other creatures
It does a lot of damage and is very fun. Threw a teammate at a spider once and it broke the bridge the spider was on, dealing 40 damage to it. My teammate landed on the ledge so he was fine.
What do you need help doing
I picked it up on my custom paladin for a 2 player game on a whim and I have been both horrified and laughing my ass off. The number of Dark Urge specific replies it sneaks into the average conversation and commentary without telling you is so funny.
oh, yeah, i noticed this, i was just gonna post abt this. act 1 felt pretty long, and the game doesn't actually tell you when you go to a new act, and by the time i got to moonrise i just realized that i was mostly through the game.Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:53 pm so, how do we feel that its beginning to be known that its downhill after act1, with loads of cut content?
(nobody predicted this at all though??)
good thoughts coffee. after the first 20 hours or so I put it down, and theres a good chance i wont pick it up again until the definitive comes out. its a blast, but yeah. ive got a divinity 2 playthrough i really want to finish.CoffeeDragon16 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:21 pmoh, yeah, i noticed this, i was just gonna post abt this. act 1 felt pretty long, and the game doesn't actually tell you when you go to a new act, and by the time i got to moonrise i just realized that i was mostly through the game.Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:53 pm so, how do we feel that its beginning to be known that its downhill after act1, with loads of cut content?

im still liking it a lot, but you're right, act 1 is the strongest part. i feel like after you leave the beginning area the party talk way less, much less quests, the areas are smaller, etc etc. im in act 3 now at around 60-70 hours and it really doesn't feel like i played that much. kinda pales in comparison to a lot of other RPGs ive played. i still like the concept of dnd video game (NPCs can't have scheduling issues and bail ). the drop in quality isn't egregiously bad or anything so i'm not too bothered over it. also the game IS fairly buggy and runs poorly
also while i love karlach, astarion, and shadowheart to death i feel like the rest of the companions suck. you're supposed to empathize with gale and wyll's dillemas but they have zero personality and don't do anything to be likeable. lae'zel actively sandbags the party the whole time in everything but combat.
end of act 2 spoilers:my first playthrough has been as a neutral good sorcerer, i think when i beat im gonna do a chaotic evil dark urge warlock. the gameplay is really good► Show Spoiler
hm, why did you put it down after that long? just got bored of it, or did the drop in quality bother you that much? i think its less so a drop in quality but a drop in the amount of content, but that's just semantics. i can understand waiting for a definitive edition, though, given they just announced they want to make DLC.Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:27 pm good thoughts coffee. after the first 20 hours or so I put it down, and theres a good chance i wont pick it up again until the definitive comes out. its a blast, but yeah. ive got a divinity 2 playthrough i really want to finish.
i was playing a neutral good sorcerer as well! goes all the way back to the original baldurs gate taht i've enjoyed sorcerers
like bepis said. the original 2 are classics that everyone should play. they hold up because any good crpg dev should be using them as a gold standard.CoffeeDragon16 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:40 pmhm, why did you put it down after that long? just got bored of it, or did the drop in quality bother you that much? i think its less so a drop in quality but a drop in the amount of content, but that's just semantics. i can understand waiting for a definitive edition, though, given they just announced they want to make DLC.Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:27 pm good thoughts coffee. after the first 20 hours or so I put it down, and theres a good chance i wont pick it up again until the definitive comes out. its a blast, but yeah. ive got a divinity 2 playthrough i really want to finish.

what are the other baldur's gate games like? do they hold up? i was thinking abt checking them and Divinity out once i finish bg3
great, i'll check the other larian games out once i've beaten it. tysm!Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:13 pm like bepis said. the original 2 are classics that everyone should play. they hold up because any good crpg dev should be using them as a gold standard.
they have the remastered versions on steam, buy them
baldurs gate 3 is basically the divinity games with less environmental effects. the first one was fantastic, the second was great.
i put it down because i got into songs of syx and starsector(again) if i sit down to play BG3 10 hours will be gone before i know it
honestly ill probably start playing it again soon so i can finish my sorc and then make an original character or play an origin when the definitive comes out
what! songs of syx looks beautiful, especially at night. i thought it seemed a lot like DF too at first but its more like Banished. its much more of city sim, an ACTUAL city sim where you start small with a few farms. export raw materials to survive, slowly grow infrastructure and industry. eventually you become an industrial machine importing all of your food capable of supporting thousands of people. there are numerous fantasy races that resemble tolkiens, some play nice together in your city and some not. law and order becomes necessary after awhile. the developer is currently adding 4x elements, and there is a free demo available thats usually a couple builds behind. i've been following it for the past 10 years, much like starsector, and even back in 2015 the game was very polished and playable.CoffeeDragon16 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:41 pmgreat, i'll check the other larian games out once i've beaten it. tysm!Kendrickorium wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 11:13 pm like bepis said. the original 2 are classics that everyone should play. they hold up because any good crpg dev should be using them as a gold standard.

i've never heard of songs of syx, im looking it up on steam, and it kinda hurts to look at. whats it about? how long have you been playing it? seems a lot like dwarf fortress
also, i dont get the appeal of starsector... i tried it once and didn't like the controls, but i think the shipfighting mechanics are interesting. i don't see what makes people sink thousands of hours into it though
Honestly a shocking developmentKendrickorium wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 6:53 pm so, how do we feel that its beginning to be known that its downhill after act1, with loads of cut content?
