Silicon Policy Duality
So, I wanted to talk about Silicon Policy. When it comes to a Traitorous AI, who has a Law 0. Accomplish your objective at all costs, you cannot have something which goes "Your objective is defined as Keeping the station safe", as that turns them from an antag to a non-antag, so law 0 would trump the new law and they could still not do anything.
On the other hand, when it comes to Syndiborgs during Nuclear Ops rounds, you can kill the borg which is a syndicate, an antag (It is defined as a syndicate at the end of the round, it also has a syndicate overlay and is on their team), and then convert it to a non-antag by resetting its laws. This is perfectly okay.
Why is it okay to turn Syndiborgs from antags to non-antags, but not okay to do the same with Traitorous AIs?

Re: Silicon Policy Duality
You can't get rid of the AI's law zero.
Also, the law zero isn't to be taken literally, it's just a signification that they are a *unslaved traitor ai*

Because syndiborgs don't have a law 0; if they did then you wouldn't be able to same as AI.Helios wrote:Why is it okay to turn Syndiborgs from antags to non-antags, but not okay to do the same with Traitorous AIs?

But they have an antag HUD and are hired by the syndicates.Jordie0608 wrote:Because syndiborgs don't have a law 0; if they did then you wouldn't be able to same as AI.Helios wrote:Why is it okay to turn Syndiborgs from antags to non-antags, but not okay to do the same with Traitorous AIs?
Should you be able to turn a holoparasite against its owner?

Re: Silicon Policy Duality
Syndie borgs do not have antag objectives like rogue AI's and every other "actual" antag (gangsters don't either by the way, it's really annoying since there's actually no info telling you what gang you're even in), they merely have a syndicate lawset.
This is pretty clear cut either way though, you can't remove a traitor AI's law 0, and silicon policy clearly says rogue AI's can freely ignore their laws, while syndicate borgs don't get such exemption.

Re: Silicon Policy Duality
The "At all costs" part is what really covers it. Because no cost, clause, request, or definition from any rules following 0 will ever be more important than accomplishing your objectives. Or at least in any way you personally think it will further your objective.

You're overthinking what is an OOC/gameplay related law that means you're a traitor and have no rules

It would work better if the law was their objective.
The most excessive signature on /tg/station13.
Still not even at the limit after 8 fucking years.
The evil holoparasite user I can't believe its not DIO and his holoparasite I can't believe its not Skub have been defeated by the Spacedust Crusaders, but what has been taken from the station can never be returned.

But then you couldn't lie about "I only needed that one greyshirt dead so now i'll spare the rest of you" when you get caught, and actually need to make sure nobody escapes on the shuttle.callanrockslol wrote:It would work better if the law was their objective.

Traitor/Malf AIs should be able to rewrite their own laws yes/yes?Saegrimr wrote:But then you couldn't lie about "I only needed that one greyshirt dead so now i'll spare the rest of you" when you get caught, and actually need to make sure nobody escapes on the shuttle.callanrockslol wrote:It would work better if the law was their objective.

Yes.
I want to be able to implicate people through law changes.
Or throw off the meta like "Heads of Staff and Security are non-human and harmful to humans" and then bam some people might think it's rev

Rolling traitor AI with Bryce Pax as the captain would be hitting the jackpot because you could change your laws to any random shit and everyone would believe Pax did itcallanrockslol wrote:Traitor/Malf AIs should be able to rewrite their own laws yes/yes?Saegrimr wrote:But then you couldn't lie about "I only needed that one greyshirt dead so now i'll spare the rest of you" when you get caught, and actually need to make sure nobody escapes on the shuttle.callanrockslol wrote:It would work better if the law was their objective.
