The most tactical phone
Alright so, recently my phone got fucked up because i left it on the counter next to my sink and it fell in and is basically rip. It was a alcatel one touch fierce 2.
Overall, it was generally pretty shit after using it for two years (bought it back in 2014, i think it came out in 2011)
Didn't run all that fast, loads of shitty errors, not enough storage space, downloading errors, cracked camera, cracked screen, case would never stay on, battery would always pop out.
So in general, im looking for a new phone, between 300-700 dollars, with 16+ GB of storage, that has a slot for a micro SD card for additional picture and video storage, that has a rugged and durable design, isn't extremely large (looking for 5-6 inch screen) and is light while having all of this.
tl;dr: suggest me a tactical phone thats really good but moderately cheap in all respects that's going to last me another two to six years

If you don't really give a shit about having the latest apps, windows phones are surprisingly good and usually fairly cheap

Re: The most tactical phone
Flagship phones are memes, can someone please explain to me why phones are boasting about super amazing processors and RAM's when 99% of their job is browsing the Internet and texting people?
Salty as fuck that my Galaxy S6 slows down constantly browsing the web and has a battery life of a couple of hours even on battery saver mode (and about 60 minutes without it)

What the fuck do you do with it man? I mean i have like 20 games installed on mine. Have mobile data turned on 24/7 youtube, Internet and other various shit things with no power saving on my s6 and it'll last a day doing that.Shaps wrote:Flagship phones are memes, can someone please explain to me why phones are boasting about super amazing processors and RAM's when 99% of their job is browsing the Internet and texting people?

I'm gonna be honest, when I opened this thread I was expecting something about phones with red dot sights, foregrips, and tac lights attached to them

I have a windows phone, it's all fun and games until one of your major apps starts bugging out, you try reinstalling it and find that it has been removed from the store, the devs stopped developing it for WP and you can't even find a single working version because no one even bothers to maintain a library of .xap files

Re: The most tactical phone
Chocobro and I both recently picked up the new Motorola G4. I'm not sure which specific model he got but I purchased the G4+.
$200 brand new unlocked can use whatever service you can put a SIM card in it for.
It's fast enough to do anything I want on it and it doesn't come bogged down with a bunch of provider-exclusive must-have-installed-at-all-times-though-you-will-never-ever-use-them dumbass NFL apps and Amazon TV bullshit.
It's powerful enough to do things like PhoneVR even. I've been very happy with it and I think Choco has been too.
