Like the title suggests. Use the old clown/mime DMZ map put let the players sign up to fight on one side or the other. Baguette crossbows and pie cannons for everyone.

The round immediately following is another meme round, where whichever side won is in charge, with all heads of staff being mimes or clowns. Extra slots open up for the other job and some crewman gain the objective "Help at least one [Mime/Clown] survive". Clown nazis kick the door to botany in with their squeaky shoes while the botanists hide a mime in a locker.

Does everything have to be high effort? This is a 2d space-themed autism simulator. It's only by the Grace of God that some of our players manage to bathe.

fluff it to be a reinactment of the Clown-Mime war of 87. Make it like vietnam, with the mimes being the Victor Charlies and the clowns being something like MAC-TAV

except the mimes are french specops and the clowns are MAC-HONK or something. Mimes use invisible guns and a mech that can completely cloak while Clowns have the Honk Mech. Or if you dont want to make a custom mech for mimes, just have the objective for the mimes be to complete a prototype Honk mech before MAC-HONK can re-obtain it

There's already a mime mech in the code.

To be honest, this sounds more fun than it probably should be. As long as it's very clear to everyone involved that neither side should fuck up neutrals who just want to do their own thing, unless said thing is a strategic objective (cargo, the engine, the armory, etc.), it seems pretty amusing.
